Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup butter
  • 3 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 1 cup Coca-Cola
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 3 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 6 tablespoons Coca-Cola
  • 1 lb powdered sugar
  • 1 cup pecans, chopped

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 9x13 inch pan.

Mix flour and sugar in large bowl.

Bring 1 cup butter, 3 tablespoons cocoa, and 1 cup Coca-Cola to boil in saucepan.

Pour over flour mixture and stir well.

Add buttermilk, eggs, baking soda, and vanilla. Mix until smooth.

Pour into prepared pan and bake 25-30 minutes.

For frosting, bring 1/2 cup butter, 3 tablespoons cocoa, and 6 tablespoons Coca-Cola to boil.

Remove from heat and stir in powdered sugar and pecans.

Pour warm frosting over warm cake.

Let cool before cutting.
