Ingredients

Shop
  • 4 lbs muscadine grapes
  • 1 cup water
  • 7 cups sugar
  • 1 box (1.75 oz) powdered fruit pectin

Instructions

Wash grapes and place in large pot with water.

Bring to boil, reduce heat, and simmer 15 minutes, crushing grapes.

Strain through jelly bag or cheesecloth overnight - do not squeeze.

Measure 5 cups juice into large pot.

Stir in pectin and bring to full rolling boil.

Add sugar all at once and return to full rolling boil.

Boil hard for 1 minute, stirring constantly.

Remove from heat and skim off foam.

Ladle into hot sterilized jars, leaving 1/4-inch headspace.

Seal and process in water bath canner 5 minutes.

Don't squeeze the jelly bag - it will make the jelly cloudy instead of beautifully clear!
