Ingredients

  • 6 pork chops (1-inch thick)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 1/2 cups long-grain white rice
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) French onion soup
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • 1 package (1 oz) dry onion soup mix

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.

Season pork chops with salt and pepper.

Brown chops in oil in large skillet, about 3 minutes per side.

Spread rice evenly in prepared baking dish.

Mix French onion soup, cream of mushroom soup, water, and thyme.

Pour soup mixture over rice.

Arrange pork chops on top of rice.

Sprinkle dry onion soup mix over chops.

Cover tightly with foil and bake 60 minutes.

Let stand 5 minutes before serving.
