  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons red food coloring
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk

Instructions

1

Whisk together flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

2

In another bowl, combine buttermilk, eggs, food coloring, and vanilla.

3

Pour wet ingredients into dry and mix until just combined.

4

Heat griddle over medium heat and grease lightly.

5

Pour 1/4 cup batter for each pancake and cook until bubbles form, flip and cook until done.

6

For glaze, beat cream cheese until fluffy, add powdered sugar and milk.

7

Drizzle cream cheese glaze over warm pancakes and serve.

Chef's Comfy Tip

Don't overmix the batter - a few lumps are okay and will result in fluffier pancakes.
