Ingredients

  • 4 cups cooked cheese grits
  • 1.5 lbs shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 8 slices bacon, chopped
  • 1 bell pepper, diced
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 teaspoons Cajun seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon hot sauce
  • Green onions for garnish

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.

Cook bacon until crispy, remove and set aside.

Sauté bell pepper and onion in bacon fat until soft.

Add garlic and cook 1 minute.

Season shrimp with Cajun seasoning and add to skillet.

Cook 2-3 minutes until just pink. Remove from heat.

Mix grits with cream, 1 cup cheese, and hot sauce.

Spread grits in prepared baking dish.

Top with shrimp mixture and bacon. Sprinkle remaining cheese on top.

Bake 25-30 minutes until bubbly. Garnish with green onions.
