Ingredients

Shop
  • 1 jar (32 oz) dill pickle chips, drained
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup cornmeal
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Ranch dressing for serving

Instructions

1

Pat pickle chips very dry with paper towels.

2

Set up breading station: flour in one bowl, buttermilk in second, panko mixed with cornmeal and spices in third.

3

Heat oil to 375°F in deep fryer or large pot.

4

Dredge pickles in flour, dip in buttermilk, coat with panko mixture.

5

Fry in batches 2-3 minutes until golden brown.

6

Drain on paper towels.

7

Serve hot with ranch dressing.

Chef's Comfy Tip

The key is getting the pickles really dry before breading - any moisture will make the coating fall off during frying.
