Ingredients
Shop- 8 quarts water
- 1/2 cup Old Bay seasoning
- 2 lemons, halved
- 3 lbs small red potatoes
- 1 lb smoked sausage, cut into 2-inch pieces
- 6 ears corn, halved
- 3 lbs large shrimp, unpeeled
- Melted butter for serving
- Cocktail sauce for serving
- Lemon wedges for serving
Instructions
Bring water, Old Bay, and lemons to rolling boil in large pot.
Add potatoes and boil 10 minutes.
Add sausage and boil 5 minutes.
Add corn and boil 5 minutes.
Add shrimp and cook just until pink, about 3 minutes.
Drain immediately.
Dump onto newspaper-covered table for authentic Low country presentation.
Serve with melted butter, cocktail sauce, and lemon wedges.
Chef's Comfy Tip
Don't overcook the shrimp! They should turn pink and curl up, but cooking any longer makes them rubbery.
