Shop
  • 4 bone-in pork chops (1-inch thick)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 large onions, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon thyme

  • 2 tablespoons flour mixed with 2 tablespoons water

Instructions

1

Season pork chops generously with salt and pepper, then dredge in flour.

2

Heat oil in large skillet over medium-high heat.

3

Brown pork chops 3-4 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.

4

Add onions to skillet and cook until golden, about 8 minutes.

5

Add garlic and cook 1 minute more.

6

Pour in broth, Worcestershire, thyme, and bay leaves. Bring to simmer.

7

Return pork chops to skillet, reduce heat to low, cover and simmer 30 minutes.

8

Remove chops and keep warm. Whisk flour mixture into gravy to thicken.

9

Simmer gravy 2-3 minutes, remove bay leaves, and pour over pork chops.

Chef's Comfy Tip

Don't skip browning the pork chops - it adds incredible flavor to the final gravy.
