Ingredients
Shop- 4 cube steaks (about 1 1/2 lbs)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 3 large onions, sliced
- 3 cups beef broth
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon thyme
Instructions
Season flour with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Dredge steaks in seasoned flour.
Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Brown steaks 2-3 minutes per side. Remove.
Add onions to the skillet and cook 10-12 minutes until caramelized.
Sprinkle 2 tablespoons of the seasoned flour over onions and stir for 1 minute.
Gradually add beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and thyme. Bring to a simmer.
Return steaks to the skillet, spooning gravy over them.
Cover and simmer 25-30 minutes until steaks are tender. Serve with mashed potatoes.
